I attended College at UC Irvine and graduated at the top of my class in Chemistry and Art History. Osteopathic Medical School was a good fit for me because the philosophy of a whole person approach and emphasis on human anatomy appealed to my sensibilities as a healer and artist. After medical school at Western University in Pomona, Ca, I completed my internal medicine residency in Los Angeles, and moved to San Francisco. My board certification is in Internal Medicine since 2001.
As I have continued the practice of medicine over the last 20 years, my orientation and approach has gone beyond the paradigm of disease to a broader perspective of health that considers how we can optimize the aging process both inside and out.
I have a deep love for learning and a curious nature and as a result I am a perpetual student. I received my Masters in Public Health at UC Berkeley in 2008, Foundational certification in Ayurveda from the California College of Ayurveda in 2011. Most recently I completed a 2 year fellowship in Anti Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine through offered by the American Academy of Anti- Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Additionally, I have certifications in IV vitamin therapy, Ozone Therapy, Ayurvedic body therapy. I also have extensive non surgical Aesthetics injectable training in Botox, dermal fillers, Micro Needling with PRP.
I have skilled hands and a keen eye for proportion and beauty. I love working with people who are actively engaged in their own health and believe that medicine that feels personal and participatory yields better outcomes. My approach is delivered though personalized concierge support with exceptional follow up.
When I am not at work, I love making art, being in nature, cooking, entertaining friends, Iyengar yoga and world travel. I am also passionate about International work and giving back to underserved communities. I have been part of several disaster relief teams that provide care in Haiti and Sri Lanka.
I live in Oakland with my musician partner Jim and a sweet tabby named Ollie.
